Over 300 alumnae, staff, parents and students gathered on Saturday, September 24, to celebrate Mercy High School’s 60th Anniversary and to honor three Distinguished Alumnae. Bishop Quinn began the celebration with Mass in the Mercy auditorium followed by a welcoming reception where guests enjoyed reminiscing over Mercy memorabilia showcasing the past 60 years. Dinner culminated with the presentation of Distinguished Alumnae, women who were nominated and selected by their peers based on their achievements, being a positive role model for young women, support for Mercy and their exemplification of being a woman who makes a difference.
Arleen Brennan Bonello ’56, Noreen McGowan Keating ’58, and Sr. Mary Paulita Walters, RSM ’63 were the recipients of this year’s Distinguished Alumnae awards. Read more about the Distinguished Alums by visiting the Distinguished Alumnae Awards page on our website.
Maureen Stirling, Mercy Admissions Director and 1996 Mercy graduate, commented, "This event really celebrated the spirit of Mercy High School. With so many graduates coming together from the past 60 years, it is overwhelming how many have truly made a difference in the lives of others. It is a great feeling to know that you are part of something that has had such a positive impact on our community and beyond."
