February, 11, 2012 V CHSL Quarterfinals vs. Cabrini @ Madonna University

The Varsity Marlins began defense of their Catholic League crown with a 61-30 quarterfinal win over Cabrini. Candice Leatherwood paced the team with 14 points, while Allie Gorcyca added 9 points and 5 assists. Sarah Benson tallied 8 points and 4 boards; Paige Roberts had 6 points and 3 rebounds; Michaela Mazur added 6 points; Tyler Parlor had 6 points and 5 rebounds; Meghan Tarrance tallied 4 points and 2 assists; Sam Bauer had 3 points and 5 boards; Sierra LaGrande added 3 points and 4 assists; Natalie Capatina scored 2 points; Jamie Jeffries had 2 rebounds and Katie Koehler chipped in with 2 steals and 2 assists.

With the victory, the team is now 13-4 and advances to the CHSL semifinals. The Marlins will play Ladywood, on Thursday, February 16, at DeLaSalle. Game time is 7:30.
