AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol Scholarship Program |

AAA Michigan is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who has served as a Michigan School safety. Students must show documented proof of AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol participation in elementary or middle school, good academic standing and a strong record of involvement in the community and/or extra curricular activities. Students will need to note what their Safety Patrol experience taught them or meant to them. ONLY ONE APPLICANT will be accepted from Mercy - this will be done on a first-come, first-served basis - see counseling for an application. |

|
The American Polish Engineering Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a female high school senior. The initial requirement is that the student is of Polish origin or descent; has a minimum 3.0 GPA and plans on enrolling in a technical engineering or allied science curriculum in college. Archdiocese of Detroit - Hilda E. Bretzlaff Foundation Scholarship |
|
The Hilda E. Bretzlaff Foundation is awarding 15 grants of $2,500 each to Archdiocesan high school seniors and renewal students. The main criterion for this scholarship is poverty. Besides the completed application, three essays and two letters of recommendation are required, along with a 2010 tax return. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, be creative, moral, ambitious and conservative and who will be a credit to America (as demonstrated in the essays). Counseling has copies of the application with must be submitted with all required materials to the Office for Catholic Schools. |

The Schureman Scholarship Program |
|
Offered through the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, the Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship Program provides children who have lost their fathers because of death or loss of parental rights before reaching the age of 18. The $7,500 scholarship can be used only at one of the 15 public universities in Michigan. Candidates must also complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid for 2011-2012, available 1/1/2011 at www.fafsa.gov) and demonstrate need at the chosen state of Michigan university.
